DESCRIPTION
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the most common member of the vinyl group of plastics. PVC material has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is a good electrical and thermal insulator. Polyvinyl chloride rods are a self-extinguishing material and are categorized as extremely low water absorption. PVC is a strong, chemical, acid, aging and abrasion resistant material. PVC rods offer excellent corrosion resistance and resistance to outdoor conditions. PVC rods have high mechanical strength and durability, very hard surface, excellent impact strength. Rigid PVC is easy to work with. The disadvantage of PVC rods is that the material melts at a lower temperature than other plastics such as polyamide, Teflon and polyethylene.
