Teflon PTFE
Teflon or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a material with very good characteristics that no other plastic can offer. Teflon is a structural material allowing reliable operation at temperatures exceeding the limits of all thermoplastics. PTFE has one of the lowest coefficients of friction and excellent insulating properties. Teflon is chemically resistant to most substances.
The main advantages of PTFE are:
- Non-flammability – its surface is not sticky and does not ignite
- Very high density
- High heat resistance
- Very low water absorption
- Lowest coefficient of friction of all solid materials
- Excellent insulator
- Excellent hydrophobicity
- Resistant to the action of an electric arc; oxygen, ozone; UV rays
- Suitable for the food industry
- Resistance to aging even at high temperatures and in the presence of solvents, oils, oxidizers and others
- High electrical strength
